Hiromu Seifert (*17.11.1991 in Berlin) was born into musical surroundings and started playing drums in his early childhood by suprisingly being able to memorize whole symphonies and playing along with recordings by heart.
Soon, he would also create his own music by using a simple tape recorder and whatever "instruments" he could find at home.
At age 15 he discovered the freedom of jazz music and was so fascinated by it that two years later he took a flight to New York with his saved earnings.
That also led him to studying music at the prestigious Jazz Institut Berlin (UdK/HfM Berlin) where he took drum and composition lessons with John Hollenbeck, Greg Cohen, Peter Weniger a.o. and later at the Conservatoire de Paris (CNSMDP) with André Pallemaerts, Henri Tournier, Riccardo del Fra a.o.
The need to express himself through music has kept him on the path as an artist and Hiromu is involved in projects of styles as different as jazz, hip hop, electronic, world or classical music.
Hiromu won the 1st Bundespreis at jugend musiziert" as well as the 1st prize at "jugend jazzt" Baden-Württemberg and has played concerts in Europe and Asia and at festivals like enjoyjazzfestival and umbriajazz besides being active in the vibrant Berlin music scene.
